DONOR COW PROGRAM

Registered Black Herefords and Registered Black Angus CATTLE

Only our best genetics become a part of our Donor Cow Program. We select our animals using many different categories. Animals that excel in a minimum of 8 of our 10 categories will be selected: Fertility, Docility, Udders and Teats, Growth and Feed Efficiency, Longevity, Milk, Phenotype, Birth Weight, Frame Score, and Fleshing Ability.

These donor cows have been proven producers for us and carefully selected for the traits that they have excelled in. We match these donor females with sires that will complement and enhance the next generation. We have several different mating’s for many of these females depending on our customers' individual needs. We are convinced that one of the key factors in developing a strong herd and breeding program is understanding proper mating techniques based on multi trait selection of genetics. Our number one criteria for a successful mating is maternal and fertility traits. Without these every other trait is irrelevant.

Embryo transfers for a breeder is a relatively inexpensive way to build a quality herd fast. The mating work has already been proven and done for you. Embryo sales have become a big part of our business the last few years. Please feel welcome to contact us with any questions or inquiries.

This is by far the most complete and performance oriented F1’s that we have ever bred. We have mated her with several different sires to obtain different goals of performance with each mating. She is bold, big bodied, and perfectly profiled. We couldn’t be more pleased with the result that we have had from this donor queen. Females like this are what our breed needs more of to produce offspring that will bring true performance genetics to the future of our breed. I encourage you to review her progeny performance level on Digital Beef. I think you will agree she has the ability and inheritable traits that are being passed on to her offspring.

 HOMOZYGOUS BLACK

Animal ID: 151

This homozygous black female has a remarkable history in our herd. We selected her a few years ago based on her volume, maternal traits, and milk value. She stems from one of the early breeds all-time great donor cows JN Balder 240. Our 455 CC ShowTime female is a nature calf of hers. You can’t fault this female. She brings the entire package to a mating

homozygous black

442 has lived up to what we had hoped she would be. Her flush sire is the great 9405. One of the best maternal sires to date in the Black Hereford breed. He was heavily used in the BH breed for maternal traits and low BW. 9405 was a moderate frame bull that transmitted style correctness and phenotype. He was also the flush sire of the number one selling semen bull currently in the Breed Z420ET Black Dynasty.

Her flush dam was one of our early flush dams that boasts tremendous growth, along with great udders and teats. 442 is a special donor cow in our program. 442 has everything that one could ask for in a productive, real world cow. She is clean fronted with lots of volume, depth, and thickness. She is moderate frame and she is homozygous black. That gives us the opportunity to flush her to several red bulls and guarantees that we will retain black calves. Her first flush mating to the ABS bull revved up AHA # 43386234 produced 12 number one quality embryos.

This is a power packed dam that is going to have significant impact in the advancement of American Black Hereford genetics. This donor offers an affordable and quick formula to increase the quality of any herd very quickly.
